Feathered Friends Frenzy
July 12th-19th
The Etsy Mud team is busy making items for their favorite feathered friends. Participating Team members will create a functional bird item. The item can be a bird-feeder, bird house, bird bath, etc. Photos of the items will be posted on our website. When all the pictures are up, you can vote for your favorite. In return for your vote, you will receive a discount coupon to participating mud team member shops.
Local Shows and Events
Ancient Arts, a Clay Arts, Utah Gallery Show
May 15th-June 3rd
Clay Arts Utah will be presenting a show of member work in conjunction with the Utah Surface Design Group at the Partrick Moore Gallery 2233 South 700 East in SLC. My Offspring Sculptural Vessel has been awarded “Best Sculpture”.
Solo Exhibition at the Gallery at the Station
Opening Reception Friday, June 5th
The Gallery at the Station in Located at Union Station in Ogden, UT. Several of my leaf pots will be on display for the month. The opening reception is from 6-8pm.
Clay Arts, Utah Box Social
Saturday, June 6th.
Clay Arts, Utah hosts an annual Box Social every summer. Local potters can bring clay boxes of any kind, functional or non-functional for commenting and exchange. There will be food and social at 5pm; and a Clay Arts, Utah membership meeting and Box Exchange 6:30. All potters and folks interested in Clay are welcome, with or without a box.
A Gathering of Artists
Saturday, June 6th
Join local artists as they complete projects on the green just north of The Gallerie on Saturday, June 6th from 11am to 6pm. There will be a canopy on the green, great art, and hot dogs and lemonade.
The Ogden Arts Festival
Saturday, June 13th
Ogden's Historic 25th Street, with its historic train depot, Union Station, provide a unique setting for the 6th Annual Ogden Arts Festival. Scenic snow packed peaks of the Wasatch Mountains set the backdrop for a full day of entertainment and fun. And, as always it is Free and Open to the Public! From 10 am to 8 pm, June 13, 2009.
The Sundance Children’s Festival
Saturday, June 20th
The 9th annual Sundance Children’s Festival is a community celebration of children featuring vendors and artisans who create child-oriented, hand crafted or Utah-made arts and crafts. The Festival takes place Saturday, June 20th from 10am-4pm at Sundance Village in Sundance Resort.
Summer classes and camps
There are three child art classes available at my home/studio this summer. Please see each class description for pricing, days, and times. Please email me for sign-up information. All classes are filled on a first-come-first served basis and limited to 6 students. Spots are filling up fast but there are still a few left.
3-D Art Exploration
Students will create projects with clay, polymer clay, and modeling dough. This class will focus on technique and creativity and children will make a variety of shapes and forms.
This class is for children who enjoy hands-on projects and want to learn more about sculpture and the different mediums available.
Class Meets June 8-12 Monday through Friday
5-7 year old class meets 10:00-11:30
8-12 year old class meets 2:30-4:00
Price $60+ $10 deposit for supplies
Multi-Media Jewelry Making
Children will make fun and funky jewelry using a combination of clay, wood, paper, felt, metal, and polymer clay. They will learn new techniques and bring home several finished pieces.
This class is for girls who like jewelry and want to learn to make their own.
Class Meets June 15-19 Monday through Friday 10:00-11:30 am
This section is for 7-12 year olds only (sorry, no younger students)
Price $65+$10 deposit for supplies
Fun in the Mud
Students will create functional and sculptural pieces using high-fired clay. During this class, they will learn about the properties of clay and the firing process.
This class is for creative children who don’t mind getting dirty and like to express themselves in a tactile way.

5-7 year old class meets 10:00-11:30
8-12 year old class meets 2:30-4:00
