My Leaf Pot series explores the relationship between the organic and artificial elements inherent in the making of pottery. Built of clay and solidified in fire, it is a very natural process. Even so, it is the potter that determines the form and creates the work. This is why I place screws and stamps next to loose, organic leaf carvings and earthy-toned backgrounds. In this way, I juxtapose natural and man-made elements to create a unified whole.
