A committed stay-at-home mother and potter, Tara Robertson creates her unique artwork in her home studio. Most of her pottery is hand-built, with vessels painstakingly formed from long coils or slabs of clay pinched together. A single vessel can take days or months to complete.
Inspiration for Tara's work comes from an eclectic array of sources; her active little daughter, numerous houseplants, the hills around her house, friends' work at the lab where she is a teacher's assistant, and textured wall treatments. Her new series reflect her willingness to push the clay in new directions and her love of whimsical shapes
